Photo: credit to my sister, Holly. It was taken last winter at my family’s camp in the Adirondacks. My two cousins and their dog ventured onto the frozen lake. (This is just a bay, not the entire lake which actually had 55 miles of shoreline.)
Next week I’m going up there, just myself and a few friends. Tumbling down snowy hills, building fires, adventuring in the cold, colorless landscape. Having a cabin to warm up in helps though, even without running water. Fancy dinners, card games, a few drinks, some music, and no cell phone service for a few miles around.
